STEP 1:  God has a purpose and plan for your life.
God loves you and wants you to experience peace and life.  Both of these are only available through a relationship with God.
The Bible says.......
  • "We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."  Romans 5:1
  • "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."  John 3:16
  • "I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."  John 10:10

STEP 2:  We have a problem.
God didn't create us as robots who automatically love and obey Him.  He gave us a will and a freedom of choice.  We have all chosen to disobey God and do things our way.  This disobedience is called sin and it separates us from having a relationship with God.
The Bible says.........
  • "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  Romans 3:23
  • "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Romans 6:23
Mankind has tried many ways to reach God - being good, religious practices, donating money, etc.  None of these are able to build a bridge to God.  Only one thing can restore our relationship with God.

STEP 3:  God provided a way back to Him.
Since we couldn't remove our sins by ourselves, out of love, God provided a way.  Jesus Christ, who was God in human form, took our place and paid our penalty for sin by dying on the cross.  His death provided a way for our sins to be removed and bridge the gap between God and people.
The Bible says...........
  • "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ."  1 Timothy 2:5
  • "For Christ died for sin once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God."  1 Peter 3:18
God has provided the only way back to Him.  Each person must make the choice to accept Jesus' death as payment for their sins or not.

STEP 4:  We decide to take or reject God's way.
God doesn't force us to obey Him or accept the forgiveness He has provided.  We each have to choice.  If you would like to receive the forgiveness for your sins made possible through Jesus' death on the cross, here is what you do.

1. Admit that you are seperated from God because of sin and that there is nothing you can do alone to remove those sins.
2. Believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins and rose from the grave proving He was God.
3. Through prayer, ask Jesus to take away your sins and make Him the leader of your life.
The Bible says..............
  • "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."  Romans 10:9
  • "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."  Romans 10:13

You can pray something like this:
Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness.  I believe that You died for my sins.  Today I trust in what you did on the cross as full payment for my sins and acknowledge you as the rightful leader of my life.  I invite you to come into my life as my forgiver and my God.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.

If said this prayer in faith, you have just started a relationship with God where you can experience the peace and life He planned for you life.  As a new Christian, here are some things we encourage you to do:

1. Go to a Bible-believing church this Sunday and let others know about your decision to accept Jesus.  Also send us an email so we can celebrate your decision.  If you are nearby we would love it if you joined us for worship.
2. Begin the practice of reading your Bible everyday.  The Bible is handbook for learning abou God and how He wants us to live.
3. Spend time talking to God in prayer.  You've just started a relationship with God that only grows stronger as you speak with Him every day.
4. You are now a representative for Christ in this world.  Tell others of the forgiveness they can have through Jesus and demonstrate God's love to others.
